Sage Fixed Asset Function

The method for running the month end Sage procedure has been described in earlier articles. This article focuses on how to use the fixed assets toolbar in Sage so that depreciation is automatically posted when the month end procedure is run and the Post Depreciation option is selected.
The fixed assets toolbar enables users to keep track of all their fixed assets using Sage. When a new asset is purchased simply log it by selecting the ‘Record’ option (this process does not automatically post the asset in the appropriate nominal ledger codes, this will need to be done separately). Once the details of the fixed asset have been entered, the ‘Posting’ tab on the Fixed Asset Record enables you to set up depreciation postings which are then posted automatically when the month end option is run.
